Our managed backup service runs on Acronis. We set up, schedule, monitor and maintain your backups for you, so it runs in the background with us keeping watch.

It suits businesses that want reliable, secure backup without managing it themselves, from small businesses to larger organisations.

Cloud backups are stored in the Acronis data centre in South Africa, so by default your data stays in the country. If you need a different destination, S3-compatible storage in another location can be configured.

If you go over your storage plan, additional charges apply based on the extra space used. You can monitor usage and manage storage through your account.

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan anytime. Changes take effect immediately on invoice payment.

Both local and cloud storage options are available for all backup types. You can back up: Entire machines (full system backup), Specific files and folders, Disks and volumes (including system partitions), System states (including registry and boot files).

You can schedule backups according to your needs: Hourly, daily, or weekly scheduled backups, Real-time protection with Continuous Data Protection (CDP) for critical files, Custom scheduling options for specific requirements.

Three encryption levels are available. Standard (Default): SSL/TLS encryption during transfer, encryption at rest in storage, good balance of security and performance, enabled by default in protection plans. Basic (Not Recommended): SSL/TLS encryption during transfer only, no encryption at rest, requires explicitly disabling encryption in protection plans, only suitable for non-sensitive data. Maximum Security: Local encryption on your devices before transfer, SSL/TLS encryption during transfer, encryption at rest in storage, highest security but requires careful encryption key management, recommended for sensitive data. Additional Security Features: Two-factor authentication (2FA) available for portal access, activity logging and monitoring, granular access controls. Note: The default encryption settings provide robust protection for most business needs. Disabling encryption is not recommended for sensitive data.

Our managed service includes shared access with sparrowhawk.cloud so we can manage and support your backups. If you enable local encryption on your devices, only those with your encryption keys can read the data, though we can still help with overall management. If you would prefer an entirely self-managed environment, let us know and we will provision it.

To restore your data: Log into the Acronis Cyber Protection console, Select the backup source, Choose your recovery point, Select the files/folders to recover, Specify the destination, Click “Start Recovery”.

Yes, you can securely access your backups from any device with internet access through the Acronis Cyber Protection console or mobile app.

We strongly recommend enabling 2FA for all administrator accounts to provide an extra layer of security beyond passwords alone. The backup portal offers multiple security features: Strong password requirements, Two-factor authentication (2FA) support, User Control, IP-based access controls (optional).
