What is email hosting?
Email hosting is simply web hosting without the functions to host a website.
How can I transfer my email data to sparrowhawk.cloud?
It is super easy to transfer your email data, and even your existing domain registration(s), to us. To prevent any downtime in email function, the correct order of operations is: create a new account, transfer a copy of your data to the new server, update the DNS of any domain(s) to point to the new server, wait 24 hours and verify everything loads from the new server, cancel old hosting account, initiate domain registration transfer, verify the domain registration transfer completed successfully. This sounds daunting at first, but taken one step at a time it's a very easy and a logical sequence.
My current host uses software other than cPanel. Is this an issue for data transfer?
Moving email data from any platform does not pose an issue. We would just need the relevant access details.
What type of SSL certificates are supplied?
DV (Domain Validation) SSL certificates are supplied, you can purchase OV (Orgnisation Validation) & EV (Extended Validation) certificates from the control panel.
What is your backup policy / procedure?
By default all backup data is stored in encrypted locations within the United States. Backups are carried out on daily basis & are retained for 14 days. Enabling you to restore the required data within a 14 day window. If you require an alternative backup configuration such monthly backups retained for 12 months let us know we will provide you with pricing based on your requirements.
Do you offer any other types of encrypted backups?
From your control panel you can choose between regular backups as described above or enable client side encryption where we keep a record of the encryption keys (we can assist if the key is lost), you keep a record of the encryption keys (we cannot assist if the key is lost) or to have no backups at all.
How are encrypted backups restored?
Currently the encrypted backup restoration processes caters for full account restorations. For a more granular restore when making use of encrypted backups one would need to extract the required data from the arhive. If you need assistance you can open a support ticket.
